Getting through perimenopause and menopause
Fitness for women

Entering perimenopause has been challenging.
My body is changing, my confidence is low, I worry about my future health, and my mind is foggy.
Commercial fitness sessions were overwhelming but joining a small gym with trainers who understand and care has helped support both my physical and mental wellbeing.

Every perimenopause and menopause is different.

Some women have a tough time, whilst others transition smoothly.
Whatever you’re experiencing, strength and resistance training can support you to feel empowered, stronger, and more confident.
Our small gym offers a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you can achieve your goals, safe in the knowledge that your trainers see you and understand your needs.

Worried that strength training will bulk you out?
That’s not the case. Learn how exercise, strength and resistance training can help you.
A decrease in oestrogen levels is linked to a loss of bone density. This can lead to osteoporosis, a condition in which the bones are fragile and susceptible to breaks.
This can sound worrying, but it is something you can avoid. Regular resistance training and eating food with the proper nutrients can help. By becoming a member, I can also provide you with nutritional guidance alongside a tailored training programme.

Find a renewed confidence in your body

Our metabolic rate slows as we age, so it’s harder to justify snacking on a family-size bag of chocolate buttons or a few large glasses of red.
Once menopause kicks in, fat is stored around the lower abdomen and upper arms rather than the bottom or chest.
Resistance training can help increase your metabolic rate so your body is better at burning the occasional treat.
It won’t bulk you out but instead make you leaner and stronger. Feeling strong and fit will help boost your confidence.

Improve your mental health

Menopause can negatively impact mental health. Many women feel lost, anxious, depressed, or angry.
Our gym provides gentle encouragement, compassion, and support to help you through the darkest days.
Alongside this, resistance training helps to release endorphins, which help to boost your mood naturally.
